KOTA KINABALU (Sabah, Malaysia), 1 Oct 2025 – Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, Datuk Ewon Benedick, on Tuesday paid an official visit to the Sabah Economic Development and Investment Authority (SEDIA) as a strategic move to strengthen the framework of economic cooperation in Sabah.

The visit focused on high-impact investments, the expansion of the entrepreneurship ecosystem, and reinforcing Sabah’s role as a competitive driver of regional economic growth.

According to Ewon, close collaboration between the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) and SEDIA is crucial to ensure that high-performing companies from Sabah can successfully penetrate both domestic and international markets.

“KUSKOP, together with its agencies, will continue to work closely with SEDIA in advancing local companies, particularly those with high potential, in order to enhance the state’s economic competitiveness,” he said.

Ewon further emphasized that SEDIA has played a significant role in implementing special projects funded by the Federal Government, which have stimulated grassroots-level economic activities. He described these efforts as clear evidence of the strong synergy between national development policies and the state’s economic needs.

At the same time, he expressed appreciation to SEDIA’s Chief Executive, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hashim Paijan, for hosting the visit and sharing strategic insights on Sabah’s development direction, which he described as a key factor in strengthening the state’s investment appeal within the region.
