KOTA BELUD (Sabah, Malaysia), Aug 24 – The National Entrepreneurship Institute (INSKEN) Sabah Campus Open Day programme (HATI) continues to serve as a catalyst for the growth of micro and small entrepreneurs, offering structured training and guidance through BisKaunselors and experienced Industry Coaches.

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister, Datuk Ewon Benedick, said the HATI programme is part of 233 nationwide training and mentoring initiatives planned by INSKEN this year, including the MADANI Entrepreneur Seminar.

“To date, nearly 200 programmes have been successfully carried out nationwide, while more than 500 participants have joined the HATI series specifically in Sabah,” he told reporters after officiating the event at Tag Valley, Kota Belud, on Sunday.

According to him, Sabah has recorded among the highest participation levels since the establishment of INSKEN’s campus office in the state in 2023. The HATI series has previously been held in Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Sepanggar, with Keningau and Tawau identified as the next destinations.

Ewon highlighted that HATI is not only expanding access to entrepreneurship knowledge and networks but also focusing on the adoption of new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) to help entrepreneurs enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability.

“Such programmes reflect the government’s commitment through KUSKOP to strengthen the national entrepreneurial ecosystem, provide inclusive learning opportunities, and ensure hawkers and small traders are not left behind in the digital era,” he said.

He also underscored the importance of drawing lessons from successful entrepreneurs, citing examples such as Digital Kitchen, Silent Teddies, Haos Ek?, and the Langkawi Taxi and Limousine Drivers Cooperative, which have demonstrated resilience in turning challenges into business opportunities.

Ewon added that participants of the HATI programme should fully leverage the training and insights gained to strengthen their business competitiveness while inspiring other entrepreneurs across the nation.
