LAGUD (Tenom, Sabah) – The Lagud Polling District Centre (PDM), uniting the strength of 12 UPKO branches, has strengthened its strategy and readiness ahead of the anticipated dissolution of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly through a key meeting with UPKO N.42 Melalap Division Chief, Junik Bajit.
The meeting focused on streamlining operations, reinforcing grassroots connections, and building momentum to secure support ahead of the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN-17).
“Organised groundwork is the key to victory. Safeguard the welfare of members, strengthen ties with supporters, and ensure each branch completes the F-12 form so that votes remain with UPKO,” Junik stressed in his address.
The branches forming the backbone of PDM Lagud include Kg. Talagusu/Lanau, Kg. Pulong, Kg. Napingging, Kg. Luang, Kg. Makaniton, Kg. Liuh, Kg. Lagud, Kg. Binantayan, Kg. Batu Apar, Kg. Tuan, Kg. Dolok, and Kg. Natanduan.
Also present were UPKO CLC Secretary, Jenson Tamio, and N.42 Melalap Election Director, Pirus Masiri, who emphasised the importance of disciplined operations, systematic voter data management, and a united party machinery.
This meeting is seen as a critical catalyst in consolidating grassroots strength, positioning PDM Lagud in a strategic advantage to ensure UPKO maintains its dominance in Melalap for PRN-17.
