KENINGAU, Sept 5, 2025 – The United Pasokmomogun Kadazandusun Murut Organisation (UPKO) Keningau Division has declared that the party is in full readiness to face the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN-17), particularly in the N.40 Bingkor state constituency.
Division Chief, Datuk Dr. Laurentius Nayan, said that thorough preparations have long been underway with the establishment of the election machinery, which is now fully mobilised under the leadership of Alexius Paulus as Election Director. He stressed that all strategies and action plans have been set in motion to ensure the party’s grassroots strength is well-organised and effective.
“UPKO Keningau has long been prepared. Our machinery is not only complete but has also been actively reaching out to the ground to ensure that every segment of the Bingkor community is given due attention,” he said in a statement after chairing the Division Meeting here on Friday.
Datuk Dr. Laurentius further highlighted that, if given the mandate to contest, UPKO Keningau intends to put forward Bingkor CLC Chief, Kennedy John, as its candidate. He is seen as a capable leader who can bring the voice of the Bingkor people to a higher level with fresh and credible leadership.
He also called on all UPKO members and supporters to strengthen solidarity, uphold the spirit of the party’s struggle, and work together to ensure that victory will benefit the people of Bingkor and Keningau as a whole.
