Jelani spoke at the opening ceremony of the carnival.

Sabah FC director, Datuk Dr Jelani Hamdan announced the club’s contribution of RM5,000 to TABS SAFA Kota Kinabalu City following the cooperation for the formation of B12 and B17 teams between TABS and Sabah FC.

He said Sabah FC and TABS had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the formation of the two youth teams last year.

“This donation is a start for the provision of sports equipment and jerseys to both teams,” he said when officiating the B12 – B18 TABS SAFA Bandaraya football Carnival at the TABS SUKMA field, this morning.

According to Jelani, if there is a need, this contribution will be increased so that the team formed in collaboration with TABS will continue to run well and be further strengthened.

He said this was to ensure that the cooperation between Sabah FC and TABS, especially in relation to the creation of the B12 and B17 teams, would achieve the goals and targets agreed by both parties.

On the football carnival, Jelani who is also the Secretary General of the Sabah Football Association (SAFA) added, it will be able to highlight the talents of the trainees who follow the football development program run by TABS.

He said that after the past two years, football activities on the field were affected due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but these trainees were able to return this time to continue their activities and training.

“This TABS football development program is very good to hone the talents of children and teenagers to enable them to one day become the backbone of senior players,” he said.

Also present were TABS SAFA Bandaraya Deputy Chairman, Lokman Sunggim, SAFA Executive Secretary, David Wisom, SAFA Supreme Council Member, Shamsuddin Mohd Shah, SAFA Technical Officer, Omar Maya Amat and SAFA Bandaraya Secretary, Dg. Juraidah Datuk Abdul Rahim.
